As I mused over our ongoing needs one morning, I came to the following emphasis – that simply because there are large sums exchanging hands out there does not necessary mean that I can, through some business means or idea, fork myself the chunk I need at my discretion. But that the most viable business idea cannot avail me so much as a cent outside the granting of the LORD (for the same through Christ).
That he may in fact let me remain thus in need until the grave should call, without having to plead guilty of misrepresenting his might or benevolence. Especially since the period for which we are to yield the fruit of patience (in any given affliction) is often not predefined – from which consideration I reckon it ever can very well be one day as it would the remaining days of one’s life!).
Of cause non of the above warrant ceasing from praying for relief either (never mind ceasing from sowing/working) – but that praying we should pray still and that ever in faith through Christ. Only that we can in this mindset suffer need for extended periods without being tempted to accuse him of folly or surge into depression. Alas for more mercy to thus be able to tell the difference between vanity and eternal virtue!
